If your pet has had no vet treatment or advice for a condition for any continuous 24-month period, we can still cover it, even if the condition first appeared before your policy started. This is assessed throughout the life of your policy, not only when it begins.
A note on renewal prices. As pets age they tend to need more vet visits, so renewal prices typically rise each year. From age 5 for dogs and 7 for cats, a 15% co-payment applies alongside your excess. We'd rather you knew that upfront than find it buried in the wording.
Every Select & Protect pet policy comes with these as part of the price, not an upgrade.
Speak to qualified UK based vets and vet nurses about your pet's care, behaviour and nutrition, any time, day or night, at no extra cost with Select & Protect Vet Assist.
Ongoing conditions stay covered year after year, as long as you renew without a break and continue to meet the policy terms.
Your vet can often claim directly from us, so you're not left covering the bill upfront.
Included with every policy at no extra cost. Once you're insured, you can speak to a qualified vet nurse or vet about care, behaviour or nutrition, by phone or video, whether you're at home or abroad.

This is a summary of the main exclusions, not a full list. The complete terms, limits and exclusions, including the age limits that apply when a policy first starts, are set out in the policy wording.
